MAP OF STRATHBOGIE TABLELAND AND SURROUNDING AREA

 Image

This map shows only the main well-maintained roads that can be easily driven in a conventional 2-wheel drive car throughout the year.  There are many other minor roads, particularly to the east of Bonnie Doon Road, which are unsealed gravel or dirt tracks. Most of these are tracks, some 4WD only, through the Strathbogie State Forest and are the responsibility of the Department for Sustainability and Environment. Others run through the extensive Hancock pine plantations in the northeast and are open to the public subject to certain conditions. These roads are maintained at the discretion of DSE or Hancocks and may not be passable at certain times of the year. It is advisable to enquire locally, particularly after rain, before setting out to explore them.

There are some excellent maps of the Tableland which show all roads and tracks.  The Strathbogie Store has a selection available.
